-top-Our History
Natural Wellness Center started as a chiropractic clinic—Kinnear Spinal Care Center—in Federal Way in 1985. Massage therapy was added to the mix as it became apparent that this was frequently an integral part of patients’ care.
It was exciting how well chiropractic and massage therapy were helping our patients; but because of the toxic world we live in, the poor quality of our food supply, and poor diets, we knew people needed more.
Dr Kinnear, Natural Wellness Center’s chiropractor and clinic director, had long been interested in natural medicine—ever since one of his instructors at chiropractic college planted the seed of natural wellness through nutritional supplements—but he now began pursuing this in earnest. In 1997 Dr Kinnear began working on a 3-year post graduate clinical nutrition board certification program, and developing a plan for a larger clinic incorporating clinical nutrition into the existing chiropractic and massage clinic. We quickly outgrew Kinnear Spinal Care Center, and moved to a larger clinic in 2001, with the new name of Natural Wellness Center.
